Congregational Prayer Requests

Jason Agar has a mass in his pancreas that has metastasized to his liver. Please also pray for continued pain relief and successful treatments for Jason and for God’s peace to surround the Agar family. (Elder: DeVries)
Marly Baar is still waiting for the findings of the heart doctors who are looking for ways to repair her heart valves. Pray for wisdom for these doctors. Please also pray for peace and patience for Marly and Clare. (Elder: Vander Weide)
Dirk Bakker has a couple spots on his lungs. He will be receiving an oral medication which doctors hope will shrink the spots. Please pray that the medication is successful and for healing for Dirk. (Elder: Padding)
Evonne Ballast has been in decline the last several days and it appears she is in her last days. Please pray for God’s comfort and peace to surround Evonne, Dave, Jamie, Doug, and their family in this time. (Elder: Padding)
Linda Coleman is continuing to struggle with leg weakness and pain. Please pray for strength, pain relief, and healing. (Elder: Padding)
Ann Cool continues to struggle with heart issues and is waiting for more doctor’s appointments. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors treating Ann and for healing. (Elder: Brinks)
Gord DeBoer is continuing to receive treatment for his cancer. Please pray that the treatments are successful, for minimal side effects, and for healing. (Elder: Patterson)
Pearl Diephouse had successful shoulder replacement surgery. Please pray for reduced pain and increased function as she begins rehab. (Elder: Vander Weide)
Libere and Donate Dusabe are currently in Burundi. Please pray for safety for them as they travel and are in Burundi. Please pray for Donate as she returns home on March 9 and Libere as he returns home March 23. Please pray also for their girls as they stay home. Give thanks to God that they were able to take 200 Audio Bibles with them to Burundi. Pray for the people who receive these Audio Bibles. (Elder: Brinks)

Ruth Huisman had foot surgery in February. Please give thanks that her surgery went well and pray for a complete recovery. (Elder: Vander Weide)
Please keep Virginia Huizenga in your prayers as she is experiencing severe pain. Please pray that the pain will be relieved and that God will surround her with His comfort and peace. (Elder: Padding)
Marijo Knoll had successful foot surgery, is now in a surgical boot and is getting around well. Give thanks for a good doctor’s appointment and pray for complete healing. (Elder: Brinks)
Please pray for Millie Lanser as she moved to the memory care unit at Byron Manor because her dementia has gotten worse over the last few weeks. Thank you to all of those who have so faithfully visited with her, called her, and asked Vicki and Dale about her. Please pray for Millie, that she adjusts well to her move and that God continues to surround her, Vicki, and Dale, and the rest of their family with His peace. (Elder: Brinks)
Please continue to pray for James Ngabonziza as he struggles with dialysis, fatigue, and ongoing physical limitations with his kidney disease and kidney failure. He is in the long, emotionally draining process of possible kidney replacement surgery and the many challenges that this brings. Please pray for James, that God provides peace and strength in this process. (Elder: Padding)
Please pray for Jeff and Tammy Todd, Bev and Bob VanderHeide’s stepson and his wife. Please pray for Jeff as he continues his fight against cancer. Tammy has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is receiving chemo treatments. They are both experiencing side effects. Please pray for relief from the side effects, and for strength, energy, and healing. (Elder: Jammal)
Marilyn Zuiderveen spent some time in the hospital dealing with an irregular heartbeat. Please pray that the medications she has been put on are effective and that the dizziness she is also experiencing will go away. (Elder: Brinks)
Please pray for our church as we have entered the nomination process. Pray that God will provide the necessary leaders for Covenant Church.
Please keep the members of our congregation who are fighting cancer in your prayers.
Please keep our shut-ins in your prayers. Many of them struggle with loneliness and/or other health concerns that we are unaware of. Please keep them in your prayers.
Pray for the members of our congregation who struggle with the colder temperatures and season changes. Pray that God provides them with safety and good health during these winter months.
Please keep the students, mentors, and prayer partners who are part of our Kids Hope program at Southwood School in your prayers as they are meeting weekly.
Pray for our Hand2Hand program. Pray for the students who receive food from this program. Give thanks that we can help provide weekend food for kids in our community.
Pray for the Furniture Ministry that they will have enough volunteers to continue to serve the people in our community who need furniture.
Pray for our elders and deacons as they seek to follow God’s will as they make plans for our church.
Pray for our staff that they will remain energized and encouraged in their daily work here at Covenant Church.
Pray for the students and adult leaders as they continue gathering during this ministry year of Nursery, Little Lambs, Sunday School, Discipleship Journey, GEMS, and Youth Group. Pray for those who are part of an adult discipleship group.
This month, pray for the different schools in our community such as Legacy Christian Elementary, Southwood Elementary, Dutton Christian Elementary, Cross Creek Charter, Countryside Elementary, East Kentwood High School, and South Christian High School. Pray for the schools near your home too.
A prayer practice of discernment is engaging your community with fresh eyes and asking God’s guidance in seeing the people who are not being seen. As you walk, drive, or ride your bike through your community, ask God to show you new people and to notice new things you have driven by, perhaps, for years.
Pray for all the churches in our Classis, Classis GR South.
Pray for the various ministries of the Christian Reformed Church using the guides found HERE.
