“To provide hope and dignity, by offering quality furniture and by inviting a deeper relationship with Christ”.

For over 23 years, Covenant Furniture Ministry has been helping neighbors in need create a fresh start by providing gently used household items. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve been able to give out more than 55,000 items to families experiencing homelessness, refugees building a new life, low-income households, and people moving from shelters into permanent homes.

We partner with over 175 social workers and 33 churches across the Grand Rapids area to make sure these donations reach those who need them most.

Want to make a difference? We’d love your help! If you have gently used household items to share, please fill out the donation form below — and help us bring hope and comfort to someone’s new beginning.

“I remember leaving my home with nothing to flee a domestic situation. My new place was beautiful and empty just like I felt at the time. Well, God came through and filled my spirit with peace and security in the inside. Now, I needed to fill the space on the outside and He did that too with wonderful helpers like the people of Covenant Ministries! I was able to get great looking furniture that was very comfortable and they did their best to match everything up, perfectly.

I don’t feel like someone handed me sloppy leftovers, I feel like people understood and blessed me with a second chance. I am so blessed by this ministry and I love sharing their wonderful hearts with others because it’s ministry that truly helps those who have needs.”

When I walk into my new place, I don’t feel ashamed, I feel proud.

“I had one family that could not thank staff enough for the things that they got from CFM. She cried and said without CFM her and her family were just barely getting by. But since she got the help with furniture and household items she can focus on other things that she needs to be doing without worrying about the kids not having beds or a kitchen table to sit at and eat as a family.

“Last year, I had 2 students in my school that were affected by a house fire. They lost a lot of items as a result. With the help of Covenant Furniture Ministry, the family was able to receive supplies such as bedroom sets as well as bathroom and kitchen items.

We are so grateful for the work that this ministry does for our community”

The process to receive these items was effortless and convenient.

She was very grateful and will never forget the help she got.”

Kari Plaisier

Furniture Ministry Coordinator

My heart is to help create a home that reflects the love, hope, and presence of Jesus. I believe hospitality is more than opening our doors; it is opening our hearts and helping others create a place where they feel seen, loved, and encouraged. God has given me a desire to serve others, cultivate meaningful connections, and lead through a spirit of humility and love. My passion is to use the gifts He has entrusted to me to help others create spaces of warmth and strengthen others in their walk with Christ, and remind people that there is always hope in Him. My prayer is that by helping others create a home not just a house that it would be a reflection of His grace and an invitation for others to experience His love.
